Trilemma Consulting was founded by Dr. David Kane, in order to support organisations as they develop and deploy Energy Efficiency, Generation & Storage technologies.
David has over a decade of experience in R&D, product design, strategic research & analysis, assessment and deployment of low- and zero-carbon technologies, having held R&D and engineering roles within blue-chip Oil & Gas, SMEs and academia.
David gained a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Physics, and a PhD in Micro-CHP modelling, from Heriot-Watt University. He is a Chartered Engineer, member of the Energy Institute and Institute of Physics, and held both Carbon Trust consultant accreditation and the Certified Measurement & Verification Professional qualification.
David’s experience as a consultant covers the gambit of energy efficiency, generation & storage technologies, having led a number of feasibility, tender support, research and development projects. He coupled technical and economic assessment of technology and markets in the UK and globally, understanding the impact of policy, innovation and other market drivers. His experience developing and testing control and thermal storage systems is underpinned by a background in building simulation, building stock modelling, energy monitoring and system design.
